Though Joni Mitchell, and the sing-song writer segment in general, is not listed as my favourite genre, I will take this album in my celebration list. Most of all because her relation to the next coming album with Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. Mitchell and the band had a long friendship and also musical relationship. Beside that it’s a well composed and easy listening album I enjoyed re-listening here at this 50 years birthday.
Ladies of the Canyon is her third studio album, released on Reprise records and recorded at A&M Studios in Los Angeles, 1969/1970. It had it’s peak at the Billboard 200 as number 27 and was a certified platinum record by RIAA.
